RECRUITING: A&M commit keeping options open

Dallas, Texas defensive tackle Vincent Williams update.

Vincent Williams, DT, 6'5, 280, 4.78, DALLAS (CARTER HS), TEXAS:

JH: Have you practiced already today

VM: "We already practiced this morning. We didn't get a day off, but I can't complain because life is pretty good for me."

JH: How has your season gone thus far?

VM: "We barely won. We won 17-14. I did alright, but I don't know my stats or anything. I feel I could have played better, but in due time you learn that you have to pick up some. We won our opening game against Sam Houston, 21-7. I did pretty well in that game. I had three to four sacks. Our defense played well as a group. We feel that we can learn from the first two games. These games are important to us and we need to get better each week."

JH: Are you still solid with your commitment to Texas A&M?

VM: "I am still solid right now."

JH: Are other schools still recruiting you?

VM: "I have heard from other schools. I keep my ears open and I listen to what other schools have to say. Even though I have committed to Texas A&M, they tell me to keep my options open. Other coaches tell me that recruiting is not over until I sign on that dotted line."

JH: What was it about Texas A&M that appealed to you so much?

VM: "It felt like home and felt like a school that I could just deal with. Texas A&M seems like it is a lot of fun out there."

JH: Have you heard from Oklahoma at all? Are they still recruiting you?

VM: "I talked to them this past week. I talk to Coach (Jackie) Shipp and Coach (Darrrell) Wyatt. I can't say if I have any interest or not."
