RECRUITING: Texas speedster ready for visit

Forney, Texas speedster DaBryan Blanton talks about his interest in OU and names a leader

JH: How did your season finish up?

DB: We went 11-1 and lost in the second round of the playoffs. I finished with 2,344 yards rushing and 33 touchdowns rushing. I was a return man for punts and kickoffs, but they never kicked the ball to me.

JH: How is recruiting going so far?

DB: So far I have visited Texas Tech and Texas A&M. Both are pretty good. I kind of like Tech over A&M. I like the environment and the people there. Everything was real nice about them.

JH: What are your thoughts about Oklahoma?

DB: I like them, they have real good coaches. I really like the offense and I have been there before and like the program. I see myself playing slot receiver at Oklahoma. I like them and like how they are recruiting me.

JH: Oklahoma got a commitment today from Michael Williams. You played against him, tell us about his game.

DB: He is an aggressive player and real physical. I think he will do very well in college.

JH: Do you want to play the slot in college?

DB: Some schools are talking to me about playing the slot and that is OK with me. I am also being recruited to play wide receiver. I need to get stronger to take the pounding if I am going to run the ball some.

JH: Who else do you plan on visiting besides OU and A&M?

DB: I am looking Tennessee (1-18) and LSU. Tennessee right now is my favorite school and I am looking forward to visiting them.
