Ekom Udofia, DT. 6-1, 290, 5.0, SCOTSDALE (CHAPARRAL HS), ARIZONA:
JH: How has your season gone thus far?
EU: "The first game went well. We won 37-0 and I had a pretty good game. Then the second game we played the No. 1 team in the state and lost 17-7. It was a game we should have won because we got into the red-zone a number of times, but we just couldn't take advantage of it. Those are things that we can correct and we will correct them soon."
JH: How did you play in those first two games?
EU: "In the first game they couldn't run up the middle and we held them to -16 yards. They couldn't run up the middle because I have moved to nose guard now and I ended up with seven tackles, two sacks and two tackles for loss. In the second game, I think I had a better game even though I didn't have any sacks. We played against one of the better running backs in the state, but they couldn't run it up the middle against us. We had one play right before half when we were backed up to our own goal and they tried to run a power play right up the middle. I stuffed the play and we had a goal line stand on that play. I don't know how many tackles that I made, but I made a bunch."
JH: Did you take a visit this past weekend?
EU: "I went to Stanford to watch my brother play, but that was an unofficial visit. I did talk to their coaches a little bit, but not much."
JH: Have you set your visits yet?
EU: "My five officials are going to be Miami, USC, Stanford, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. I am going to Stanford (9-25), USC (10-9), OU (10-23), OSU (10-30) and Miami (12-4)."
JH: How do you feel recruiting is going?
EU: "It is going good. I am getting to talk to coaches more now and finding out more about my favorite schools. I am looking forward to getting out and meeting everybody in person. I wouldn't say I have any favorites at this time."
JH: Have you enjoyed recruiting?
EU: "Recruiting has been fun for me. There are a lot of calls going on, but I basically just talk to the schools that I am interested in. But it has still been fun."
JH: As you get ready to take visits, what are your thoughts on Oklahoma?
EU: "I am just excited to go out and see them. I have watched them and I have seen all of their d-tackles play. I have talked to Coach (Jackie) Shipp and he is a good guy to talk to. And I hear game day at Oklahoma is very exciting. I am looking forward to experiencing that."
