RECRUITING: Sooner DE commit out for season

La Cygne, Kan. defensive end commitment Brody Eldridge update.

Brody Eldridge, DE, 6-5, 230, 4.7, LA CYGNE (PRARIE VIEW HS), KANSAS:

JH: You committed on an unofficial visit this past summer. What was it about that visit that made you decide to go ahead and commit?

BE: "I was so impressed with everything from academics to the athletics. I was so impressed with Coach (Bob) Stoops and Coach (Bobby Jack) Wright that I just didn't have any reason to go anywhere else."

JH: How is your season going?

BE: "Our season isn't going to well. We have lost both games and then in our last game I broke my ankle in the second quarter. I am done for the season. I broke it a minute and a half before the end of the first half."

JH: What happened?

BE: "I was playing quarterback and I was tackled, and I don't know what happened after that. It happened in the pile somehow."

JH: What have the doctors told you?

BE: "They say it is a clean break, so I will be out for eight weeks. They say I will be able to come back good as new."

JH: I know you are very disappointed?

BE: "Yes, I am. I am very disappointed."

JH: Are you looking forward to just playing defense at OU?

BE: "Yes, I am looking forward to playing defense at OU. I am not going to miss offense at all."
