The following statement was released by Associate Athletics Director of Media Relations Kenny Mossman late Friday afternoon:
We understand that law enforcement agencies are looking into a situation involving Dusty Dvoracek, a member of the OU football team. As always, the university takes matters of this nature very seriously and is cooperating fully with the appropriate authorities in their investigation. Standards for personal conduct have been set at the highest level within the athletics program and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
Dvoracek has been suspended from the team indefinitely by head coach Bob Stoops and will not play in this Saturday's game versus Oregon. Dvoracek also has been removed as one of the team's captains. Final determination as to Dvoracek's status with the team will be made once all of the facts are known.
Given the fact that this matter is the subject of an ongoing investigation, the university will make no further comment at this time.
