Big 12 Power Rankings: Week Three

A look at who stands where week two.

(1) Oklahoma (3-0)
Last Week: 1. Just how spoiled is the Sooner Nation? Armchair quarterbacks accross the state of Oklahoma weren't happy with the secondary's performance against Oregon, even though they held the Ducks to only one offensive touchdown for the first time since 1998. Up Next: Bye.

(2) Texas (2-0)
Last Week: 2. Rumor has Mack Brown and Co. spent their off-week in front of their TVs watching and taking notes on how to coach football, while Cedric Benson was seen at the Austin City Limits Music Festival searching for his missing plasma screen television. Up Next: Rice.

(3) Colorado (3-0)
Last Week: 3. The 'Buffs continued their surprising season with a 52-21 win over North Texas. If Barnett's boys can stay away from Kobe Bryant's old stomping grounds, they just might establish themselves as the favorites to win the North. Up next: Bye.

(4) Okie State (3-0)
Last Week: 4. The sheep were baaing in Stilly as the Cowboys had their way with SMU. But then again, who hasn't? Kudos do go out to quarterback Donovan Woods, who set another career passing high for the third straight week with 99 yards. Up next: Bye.

(5) Nebraska (2-1)
Last Week: 7. The Huskers rebounded from last week's debacle in Lincoln with a nice road win at Pittsburgh. Rumor has it that the key to the win was taking away John Blake's headset. Up next: Bye.

(6) Texas A&M (2-1)
Last Week: 6. The Fightin' Franchione's are starting to look more and more like a football team after beating Clemson at Kyle Field. The Wrecking Crew has now given up only six points in their last two games. Up next: Bye.

(7) Texas Tech (2-1)
Last Week: 10. What a difference a week makes: Part 2. The Red Raiders go from losing at New Mexico to dropping a hammer on TCU 70-35. Up Next: at Kansas.

(8) Kansas State (2-1)
Last Week: 8. Darren Sproles toted the rock 38 times for 294 yards, while quarterback Dylan Meier won the Donovan Woods Golden Arm of the Week Award with his 7 of 10, 52-yard passing performance. Note to Bill Snyder: Ten passes isn't going to get it done in Big 12 play. Hell, even Les Miles knows that. Up next: Bye.

(9) Missouri (2-1)
Last Week: 9. The Tigers trounced Ball State, but the big news on Saturday was Troy State's 22-18 loss to New Mexico State. Ouch. The Tigers may never live that one down. Up Next: Bye.

(10) Kansas (2-1)
Last Week: 5. The Jayhawks suffered the biggest drop in the history of the storied OUInsider power rankings (one week) with their loss to the nerds from Northwestern. Don't worry KU fans, basketball season is only a month away. Up next: Texas Tech.

Last Week: 11. Are the Cyclones really this bad? Maybe, but who cares? Up Next: Bye.
