RECRUITING: Jackson ready for new journey

San Francisco juco linebacker Pasha Jackson talks about why he chose the Sooners

PASHA JACKSON, SLB, 6'3, 235, 4.5, SAN FRANCISCO CITY COLLEGE, CALIFORNIA:

JH: How did you make your decision?

"This weekend was the first that I didn't have a game or visit or anything, and I had a chance to sit down to talk things over with my family and talk things out. I sat down with my father Saturday and came up with a decision. My dad told me to go to the place where I was most excited about going to. All of these schools have great facilities and great football programs, but there are certain things with each program that seperates them with me. At Oklahoma there were so many more positives and I just really wanted to be a Sooner."

"I liked, more than anything else, the people and the excitement the fans had for their Sooners. This is especially true during the game day with the fans excitement, the radio shows and all the media that is pumped about Oklahoma football. The people love Oklahoma football and that is something that I really wanted to get into and that was what really impressed me the most."

JH: On signing early and heading to Oklahoma within the next month.

"It's pretty exciting. I get to take another journey. I am going to spend the holiday's with my family, finish up a couple of finals and then pack it up and get ready to go. It's exciting and I am looking forward to it."

"I am ready to be with my family. The recruiting period was great, something that I have never gone through. I do want to spend some time with my family and myself. I want to get ready for that next level and have a great career at OU."

JH: Where do you think your teammate Lance Mitchell is going to end up?

"I don't know yet, Lance was coming back from his trip today or tomorrow. If we have a possibility to be teammates that would be great, but if he decides to go to his own place then I will wish him the best. I certainly appreciate the two years that I had to play with him and if I get two more then that would be great."
