RECRUITING: Florida athlete liked OU visit

Jacksonville, Florida athlete Leon Washington says he could play earlt at Oklahoma

JH: How did your visit to go Oklahoma?

"It went pretty well and Bob Stoops is a pretty good guy and the players are good guys to be around. The only problem with the visit was that it was Christmas break and most of the guys were home for the holidays, so I didn't get a chance to really see what kind of environment was at the school."

JH: What position is Oklahoma talking to you about playing?

"They are looking at me playing the slot position on offense and that excites me. They have a great group of guys returning and I think they are going to keep winning. I could go to Oklahoma and play early and that is something that I like."

JH: How did you wind up your season?

"I rushed for 2,437 yards and 29 TDs and on defense I played free safety and finished with 88 tackles, 62 solo's and three interceptions. On punt returns I returned three for touchdowns (73, 56, 59) and one kickoff for a touchdown. I also punted and averaged 38 yards per punt."

JH: After you visit to OU, how does your recruiting shake out with you.?

"Florida State is still my leader with Florida right behind behind. Oklahoma made a good impression on me and they give me something to think about. South Carolina (1-1) is another school that I am going to take a look at. It's 50-50 that I will stay in-state and go to one of the Florida schools."
