HOOPS RECRUITING: Paris twins set for visit

Piedmont, Calif. duo Ashley and Courteny Paris have NFL bloodlines.

Ashley and her sister Courtney are identical twins. And based on the way the play on the floor, when you get the same results out of both then you get one check of a combination.

"Courtney is about 6-foot-3 and I am 6-2, and our games are different," said Ashley. "Courtney is more of a power post player, while I step out on the perimeter."

A year ago, Ashley averaged 16.1 points, 12 rebounds and four assists per game, while Courtney averaged 27 points, and 18 rebounds five blocked shots per game. This past summer the Paris twins went to the All-Games Sports Camp in Charlotte, N.C. and both played well. The Paris twins are the daughter of former San Francisco 49er offensive tackle Bubba Paris. And without question, he is very much a part of their athletic life.

"The fact that my dad played in the NFL is a bit different, but we work hard to keep things normal," said Ashley. "He didn't play basketball, so he doesn't work with us on the physical part of it. H works a great deal with us on the mental aspects of sports."

The Paris sisters have already been to Texas and Syracuse with a visit to Oklahoma (9-30) looming ahead.

"Both of our visits went really well," said Ashley. "There were different things about each school. We thought that Texas was real good and a nice school. Syracuse was also real nice. Texas has a stronger basketball program than Syracuse. We are petty excited about our visit to Oklahoma. Oklahoma has always been one of our top schools. We really like Oklahoma a lot. We already know the coaching staff pretty well at Oklahoma, and we just need to get out there and see what the college is all about and what the team is all about.

"At this point we are looking for a program where we can feel comfortable. We both feel pretty confident with the schools that we are looking at that we can play for a good basketball program and all of them are good academic schools. So, feeling comfortable is the most important thing for us. Right now we don't have a favorite among our top five and we are still considering all five schools."

The Paris twins will also visit UCLA (10-9) and UCONN (10-15).
