RECRUITING: Top Florida LB impressed with visit

Oakland Park, Fla. linebacker Demetri Stewart talks about his visit to Norman for the Oklahoma-Oregon game. How much did the Sooners close the gap on the 'Canes?

Demetri Stewart, LB, 6-4, 215, 4.6, OAKLAND PARK (NORTHEAST HS), FLORIDA:

JH: How did you like your visit to OU this weekend?

DS: "It was good. I really liked it."

JH: What did you like about Oklahoma?

DS: "I like how Oklahoma is such a great football state. I like how the whole state surroounds Oklahoma football and the No. 1 thing in the state is Oklahoma football. The atmosphere at the game was incredible."

JH: What did you think of the football program itself?

DS: "I think it is a great football program and one of the best in the country. I was impressed with the entire program and everything about the program. I like how much emphasis they put into the program and how much they cared about the students."

JH: What did you think about how the linebackers play in the Sooner defense?

DS: "They blitz a lot and they are aggressive. They are very physical. I liked that about them. I am an outside backer and their style of play is exactly how I play in high school."

JH: Now that you have visited OU how is recruiting shaping up with you?

DS: "That was my first official. My top five is Miami, Oklahoma, LSU, Ohio State and Notre Dame."

JH: Do you have a leader at this point?

DS: "I was real impressed with Oklahoma and their stock has risen with me. I would say that Miami is still my favorite, but Oklahoma has moved up on them and they are now very close. I have set up a visit to Miami (12-10) and that is the only visit that I have set up thus far."
