RECRUITING: Five-star LB Cushing to visit Norman?

New Jersey linebacker Brian Cushing update.

Brian Cushing, LB, 6-3, 227, 4.5, ORADELL (BERGEN CATHOLIC HS), NEW JERSEY:

JH: How is your season going?

BC: "Actually, we are 0-2 right now. I didn't play in the first game because of a high ankle sprain. We played Saturday against Don Bosco Prep and lost 35-21. I just played on defense in that game because my ankle wouldn't allow me to play on offense. I finished with 24 tackles and a sack."

JH: Is that the most tackles you have ever had in a game?

BC: "That is probably the most. I think can have bigger games at some point this season. I was able to get 24 against a good team and I was hurt, so I don't see why not."

JH: Do you also play on offense?

BC: "I play either running back or wide receiver. I think I will be back on offense this Saturday."

JH: What is going on in your recruiting right now?

BC: "It is pretty much the same stuff. I only have two official visits set, and that is to USC (12-17) and Miami (12-10) right now. I am not taking any official visits until after the season."

JH: Who else do you hope to take visits with?

BC: "I am trying to set visits with Virginia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Louisville, Maryland and Boston College. Those are the schools I am still thinking about."

JH: What are you thoughts on Oklahoma?

BC: "I am still pretty high on Oklahoma. They do an unbelievable job on defense and Adrian Peterson is an unbelievable running back, so they have a bright future."

JH: How much of an interest do you really have in Oklahoma?

BC: "I guess you could say that as I am still trying to find out more about Oklahoma. I plan to take on unofficial there after the Army All-American game. So, that will probably be my visit to Oklahoma. That way I can work more of the schools that I am trying to visit."

JH: Do you have a leader at this point?

BC: "If I had to say a leader it would be USC right now."
