RECRUITING: Spicer sets visit to Norman

Averell Spicer, DE, 6-2, 265, 4.62, RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA:

JH: How has your season gone thus far?

AS: "It is going pretty well. We are 1-1 on the year and we have played pretty well in both games."

JH: How is your season going?

AS: "I have played well thus far. I have 14 tackles and two sacks in the two games. I have been playing defensive end and I also get a chance to play a little tight end and fullback. I was able to score one touchdown at tailback."

JH: You continue to be ranked very high. Do you enjoy getting the national attention?

AS: "It makes me feel good. I have worked hard for a long time and I am thankful that somebody recognizes it."

JH: Haven't you taken your first visit?

AS: "I went to Nebraska and it was very nice. I enjoyed that visit a lot. They have a good fan base and it is a football state. Everybody in Nebraska loves football."

JH: What is the rest of your visit schedule?

AS: "I will go to Florida State the week before Thanksgiving. I am going to Oklahoma December 10 and then I am going to USC the second week in January."

JH: Do you have a favorite at this point?

AS: "No, I still don't have a favorite. I want to keep an open mind."

JH: What are your thoughts on the Sooners at this point?

AS: "I am taking an official visit to Oklahoma and that visit is going to tell me everything that I need to know about Oklahoma. I will now how interested I am in Oklahoma after that visit."
