RECRUITING: Sooners still in it for Bennett?

Houston, Texas five-star tight end Martellus Bennett update.

Martellus Bennett, TE, 6-6, 240, 4.75, HOUSTON (TAYLOR, HS) TEXAS:

JH: How is your season going?

MB: "My season is going well. I have 10 catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns. I also have a two-point conversion. I am having a great year blocking. I have 20-plus pancakes. We are 2-1. We have real good running backs, a good quarterback and a good defense headed by Mike Brown, Rashaun Woods at linebacker. Chris Hinton and Marcus Flanagan are good DBs. They shut down the opposing wide receivers on a regular basis."

JH: Did you take a visit last weekend?

MB: "No, since Oklahoma I haven't gone anywhere. I am going to Texas next weekend."

JH: How is recruiting going for you?

MB: "Recruiting is going just like I want it to. I don't have that many schools calling me because I have only a few schools that I am interested in. I like how my senior year is going. I am having a good year and I am going to have a good year. We have a lot of weapons on offense. Teams just can't focuses on me, they have to also focus on our quarterback and quarterbacks."

JH: What schools are you still considering?

MB: "I am still talking to Texas, LSU, Arizona, Oklahoma, Miami and Florida."

JH: Do you have a favorite?

MB: "I am still committed to Miami, but Miami and Oklahoma are my two favorite schools. I am just going to see how things play out from this point on."

JH: What is it about OU that has allowed the Sooners to get back into your recruiting picture?

MB: "I love the atmosphere at OU and how crazy the fans are about their team. When I landed at the airport and got to Norman about 6:00 PM the fans were already cooking barbeque and the game wasn't until the next day. That was wild and the next day at the game they were so crazy about their Sooners. That would be a great environment to play in."
