RECRUITING: Latimer says decision will be tough

The latest on Aurora, Colorado defensive end/linebacker Zach Latimer

JH: How did your season go?

"I was named the Defensive Player of the Year by the Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News, and I was named the Gatorade Football Player of the Year."

JH: What were your stats for the year?

"I finished with 16 sacks and 93 tackles from defensive end. On offense, I had 18 touchdowns, 398 yards rushing and 489 yards receiving playing H-back, wide receiver and tight end."

JH: At one time you told me that you would make a decision by Christmas, have you?

"I was trying to, but it is taking longer than expected. To be truthful I haven't really sat down to think about it until lately. I have the same three schools involved, which are CU, Oklahoma and Miami."

JH: Does any school have an edge?

"Everyone has pro's and con's. To be honest I haven't given it much thought through the holiday's until the last couple of days. I still haven't sat down with my family and really talked things through. I don't have to be in a hurry, as I have visited all the schools and now it's just a matter of making a decision."

JH: What would you say about each school at this time?

"At Oklahoma I had a great visit and I like the coaches. At Miami I have family there and here my friends could watch me play. All of them have great football programs. I don't know if I could pick a top one out of the three. I haven't picked a major yet, so that isn't a factor. I could probably play quicker at Oklahoma either at linebacker or defensive end."

JH: Is this still a tough decision for you?

"Yeah, it is going to be very tough for me."
