RECRUITING: Cooper will compare others to OU

Ft. Collins, Colo. lineman Jon Cooper talks about his visit to Norman last weekend.

Jon Cooper, OL, 6-3, 273, 4.9, FT COLLINS, COLORADO:

JH: How did your visit go to OU this weekend?

JC: "It went real well. I had a lot of fun. I got to spend a lot of time with the players and coaches. I had a chance to see what being an Oklahoma football player was all about, and it was fun."

JH: What did the visit show you about OU that you didn't already know?

JC: "I was looking to see what kind of atmosphere was at OU. I wanted to see how the players and coaches acted together, and to see if they had a family atmosphere. They definitely had it, and that was good to see."

JH: Does the visit give OU a better chance to sign you?

JC: "Oh, definitely because I have never been there before. Now, I know what it is like and I compare them better against other schools. Plus, they have a lot of positives going for them to."

JH: How is recruiting going for you at this time?

JC: "Most of it is going basically the same. I have some new schools that have called and tried to get into the picture, but I tell them that I have my list and I am not going to change it."

JH: Where does Oklahoma stand in your recruiting?

JC: "Oklahoma is definitely really high on my list. Part of it is because they are fresh on my mind, but the rest of it is the fact that they guys are just great people and everybody associated with the program are just great people."

JH: Are you close to making a decision?

JC: "I don't know. I still have to take my other visits to see how things shape up. There are some positives and negatives about Oklahoma and Iowa State both, but I haven't really broken things down yet. I go to Wisconsin (11-6) and then Missouri (12-10). I still don't want to close any doors at this point."
