RECRUITING: Farr impressed with OU's TE usage

America's top-ranked tight end prospect talks about his visit to Oklahoma last weekend.

DajLeon Farr, TE, 6-5, 240, 4.62, GALENA PARK (NORTH SHORE HS), TEXAS:

JH: What did you think about your visit to OU?

DF: "It was a good visit. I had a good time. I liked what I saw and I got a good feeling from it. I really enjoyed my time with the players and coaches. It was a good experience for me."

JH: What did you learn about OU that you didn't know about before the visit?

DF: "It wasn't too much that I didn't know about it that was there. It was just how it looked I guess that surprised me the most. It was a prettier campus and a better looking stadium than I thought it was. I really didn't know what to expect in those areas."

JH: What was your take on the football program itself?

DF: "I liked the offense they are running and the closeness of the team."

JH: What did you think about how the Sooners used their tight end?

DF: "I liked it. They do a lot of good things with the tight end."

JH: Did OU throw the ball to the tight end enough to peak your interest?

DF: "Yes, sir. I think they will throw to the tight end."

JH: Now that you have visited OU, where do they stand in your recruiting?

DF: "They made a good impression on me, but I have to wait out my recruiting and feeling it out later. I still have all my other visits to take and then I will have to think about everything and see what I think at that time. I go to Nebraska this weekend and then the rest of my visits will be at the end of the season. I am not sure who I will visit. I am looking at a number of different schools."

JH: Do you have a leader at this time?

DF: "No sir, because it is too early in my recruiting to think about a leader. I haven't seen enough schools yet."

JH: How is your season going?

DF: "We are undefeated at 8-0 and playing well."

JH: Is it important how a team uses the tight end in the passing game when it comes down to your selection."

DF: "Yes, sir. I will go to a school that throws to the tight end."

JH: Congratulations on being selected to the Army All-Star Game in San Antonio. Do you think they will throw you the ball in that game?

DF: "It is a great honor. I am looking forward to playing in that game. It is a possible that they will throw me the ball in that game."

JH: I know your high school team is a great rushing football team, so have you had any chances to catch the ball?

DF: "We don't throw the ball very much. I have three receptions for close to 100 yards and one touchdown. That touchdown was 66 yards."
