RECRUITING: New Jersey CB planning visit to Norman

Ramsey, N.J. cornerback Michael Ray Garvin update.

Michael Ray Garvin, CB, 5-8, 178, 4.4, RAMSEY (DON BOSCO PREP), NEW JERSEY:

JH: How is your season going?

MG: "Our season is going well right now. We are 5-1 on the year. I am playing tailback and cornerback, and I have about 700 yards rushing and 15 touchdowns on offense. And right now, I have 35 tackles on defense with two interceptions."

JH: Do you like going both ways, or do you wish you could just concentrate on playing cornerback?

MG: "Yes, I like going both ways. In college I will just play cornerback, but I wouldn't mind getting a couple plays at wide receiver."

JH: What visits have you taken and where do you plan to go?

MG: "I have been to Georgia and Florida. I am going to Colorado this weekend and I am not sure about my final two visits."

JH: Are you still interested in Oklahoma?

MG: "I am still considering Oklahoma. They are going to be one of the schools that I visit. I haven't set up a visit with them yet. We are looking to do that after the season."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

MG: "I like Oklahoma a lot. They are ranked second in the nationa and they have a great chance to win the Big 12. They have a great program and every year they are one of the best teams in the country."

JH: Do you have a leader at this time?

MG: "No, I don't."

JH: What did you think of Georgia and Florida now that you visited both schools?

MG: "I am still considering both of those schools. I liked both of them a lot and they are both still in my top five."

JH: Does the firing of Ron Zook make a different in your consideration of Florida?

MG: "I will just have to wait and see what happens at Florida?

JH: What are you looking for in recruiting?

MG: "The first thing I am going to look at is academics. I want to major in business management. Then I am going to check out the depth chart and see whether I can play early at a particular schools. I want to have a good feel for the area and whether I can fit in to a school or not."
