RECRUITING: Sooners get first shot at Ohio athlete

Columbus, Ohio linebacker/safety Alex Daniels update.

Alex Daniels, ATH, 6-3, 225, 4.5, COLUMBUS BROOKHAVEN, OHIO:

JH: How is your season going?

AD: "We are 9-0 and we have a game tomorrow. I have 70 tackles, six sacks, nine forced fumbles and two interceptions. And I returned one for a touchdown of 27-yards. I have been able to do that despite the fact I missed two games because of injury (contusion on his thigh muscle)."

JH: What positions are you playing?

AD: "Right now I am playing strong safety and linebacker."

JH: What position will you play in college?

AD: "Most colleges are talking to me as an athlete. They like the fact that I can play a number of positions, and feel that will be an advantage for me in college."

JH: What is the latest in recruiting?

AD: "I have set an official visit to Oklahoma on November 12th."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

AD: "I think Oklahoma is a great place for me to start my recruiting process. It will be my first visit and I am looking forward to it. I am still very high on the Sooners. They have a great program and they play young players. I really like that about Oklahoma. It is based in a college football town and Coach Stoops gets the most out of his athletes."

JH: Are you still down to two schools or have you expanded your list?

AD: "I am just looking for somebody to give me an opportunity to see some other places. I am looking at Oklahoma, Ohio State, Texas, Wisconsin, Miami, Florida State and LSU. Oklahoma is the only school that I have set a visit with thus up."

JH: Do you have a leader at this point?

AD: "No, I really don't have a leader and those are the schools that I am interested in."
