RECRUITING: Lofton wears his crimson in Stillwater

Kingfisher, Okla. linebacker and Oklahoma commitment Curtis Lofton talks about his trip to Stillwater to watch Bedlam.

Curtis Lofton, LB, 6-2, 240, 4.6, KINGFISHER, OKLAHOMA:

JH: How is your season going?

CL: "We are still undefeated. Hopefully we can end the season undefeated. We are already district champs, so hopefully we can keep that going. We are still ranked No. 1 in the state."

JH: How are you playing?

CL: "I think I am averaging 12 to 13 tackles per game, so the season is going pretty good. On offense, I am averaging five yards per carry and I already have nine touchdowns."

JH: Do you like going both ways?

CL: "I don't really like being on offense because I like doing the hitting not getting hit. I am trying to help the team any way that I can."

JH: Did you see the Bedlam game?

CL: "Yes, I did!"

JH: What did you think of the game?

CL: "It was a good game. The game was a little bit closer than I expected. Both teams played really well."

JH: There was a major article in the Daily Oklahoman on you. In that article by Jenni Carlson it read as if you still had a great interest in OSU and that it would be tough for you not to root for them last Saturday. Is that true? And what was your take on the article?

CL: "The article didn't really get my point across. I was trying say that OU was now my passion and OU was my future. I still have friends that are at OSU or that are going there, so I still follow OSU some through them. But OU is my future and that is where I am going to play my college football."

JH: The article also indicated that deep inside your heart that you are still considering OSU, is that true?

CL: "I am firmly committed to the University of Oklahoma. There would have to be something dramatic happen for me to change my mind."

JH: Are you upset the way that the article portrayed you and your commitment to OU?

CL: "I am not mad at all. She can write the story any way she wants, but I am going to Oklahoma."

JH: You have been to OSU games all your life. Was it tough to be at OSU, but rooting for OU?

CL: "I had my crimson T-shirt on and my crimson sweatshirt on. I didn't go on OSU's tickets, I went on my own tickets. I went as a fan of OU and not as a recruit of OSU in any means. I was giving high five's to Ben (Barresi) the entire game."
