Reggie Smith, S, 6-0, 192, 4.5, EDMOND (SANTE FE HS) OKLAHOMA:
JH: Are you happy with the regular season for your team?
RS: "We finished our regular season 9-1 and ranked fourth in the state. That is a pretty good year."
JH: What were your final regular season stats?
RS: "I finished the regular season with 618 yards rushing and seven TDs. I also caught 29 passes for 392 yards and six touchdowns. I played both running back and wide receiver. On defense, I finished the year with 40 tackles, six interceptions and two were returned for touchdowns and three punt returns (for touchdowns)."
JH: How do you feel you will do in the playoffs?
RS: "We open the playoffs against Mustang. I think we are going to do pretty well. It all comes down to how our line does. We have a lot of experience with Steve Day at quarterback and many other guys who have played in the playoffs before. So, I like our chances."
JH: Is USC your only official visit thus far. How did it go?
RS: "I went to USC for my only visit thus far. I was a pretty good visit. I don't have anything to compare it to. I got a chance to go to all the player meetings and I had a chance to see how the USC football program is run. LA is a different area than Edmond, of course. It is a change of pace that is for sure. I would have to think about going to live there, because it would be a big difference from Edmond."
JH: Have you set any more official visits?
RS: "No, I haven't and I don't know if I will be able to do any more for the regular season. Our playoff schedule may keep me from taking any more."
JH: Do you know which schools you will take official visits with?
RS: "I am not sure yet because I am talking to coaches to see what they have to say. I am trying to see where they are going to play me and if they really want me or not."
JH: What do you mean that you want to find out where coaches want to play you?
RS: "Some say they will play me at corner or safety and some say they will play me at a nickel back my first year. Some say that I will also play on offense. I just want to see what the coaches have in store for me so that I won't be surprised when I get there."
JH: Do you still want to play safety?
RS: "I will play anywhere I can play to help the team. However, if it came down to me I would say safety, but I will play where ever the coaches want me."
JH: Do you play man or zone coverage?
RS: "I play a lot of zone unless it is goal line or something. It all depends on the game."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?
RS: "They are pretty high on my list because they are right up the street. They are close to home and my family could come and watch me play. Oklahoma is always winning and they are playing people early. I heard they brought Marcus Walker out of redshirt and I like that about Oklahoma."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma State?
RS: "They are coming off a real good year. They say they want me to play wide receiver and I will have to think about that. I don't have a problem with that. They have told me that I can play on defense, but they think I can be a great wide receiver."
