Jon Cooper, OL, 6-3, 273, 4.95, FT. COLLINS, COLORADO:
JH: How is your season going?
JC: "We just lost in the semi-finals to Denver Mullen. We lost 35-14, so we ended our season 9-4."
JH: How well did you play?
JC: "I think I did pretty well. I obviously didn't do so well that we kept from losing, but I controlled my man and did a good job I think."
JH: Does your high school grade or keep pancake blocks?
JC: "Our coach hasn't graded our last game yet, but I have never been below 90 percent this season. I think I am going to finish the year around 94 percent."
JH: How you happy with how your season went?
JC: " am pretty happy with my year. I just switched to center this year and I was happy with how things turned out. I think I had a good year."
JH: Are most colleges recruiting you as a center?
JC: "I just want to play inside, but it doesn't matter if it is a center or a guard. Most just say inside position, but some say they like me at center. They know they can play me at guard too."
JH: Have you taken any visits recently?
JC: "No, but I am about to take one this weekend to Oklahoma State. Then I am going to Missouri the next weekend and then on the 17th I am going to Wisconsin. I have been to Iowa State and Oklahoma officially thus far."
JH: What are your thoughts on recruiting at this point?
JC: "It is getting pretty exciting now because I am hoping to make a decision around Christmas time. I am starting to look at places pretty hard. Coaches are allowed to come by and things have been pretty hectic around here."
JH: What schools have come by to see you thus far?
JC: "So far Colorado State, Oklahoma State and Wisconsin. Tomorrow, Missouri and Iowa State are coming by, but Oklahoma can't come because they are playing in the Big 12 Championship game. So, they are coming next week along with Cal."
JH: How is recruiting stacking up for you right now?
JC: "I don't really have a favorite right now. I think I will get one after my visits, but right now Iowa State and Oklahoma stand out because those are the two schools that I have visited."
JH: What are your feelings about Oklahoma?
JC: "I really like Oklahoma and I like a lot of things that they do now. Their offensive line is doing well and do a lot of good things. I really like how the offensive line reacted to one another and Coach (Kevin) Wilson worked with them. Offensive linemen are a group all among themselves and they have to bond together. I really felt at Oklahoma the offensive line was a real close group. They seemed to really get along with each."
JH: Do you have a favorite?
JC: "I am keeping an open mind, but Oklahoma is definitely real high on my list right now."
JH: What are your thoughts on OSU?
JC: "Oklahoma State was the first school to offer me, but I just set my visit with them yesterday. We were hoping to be playing for the state championship, but that didn't work out and so I decided to take a visit."
