Reggie Smith, S, 6-0, 190, 4.5, EDMOND (SANTE FE HS), OKLAHOMA:
JH: How did your visit with OU Head Coach Bob Stoops go this evening?
RS: "It went pretty well. He talked to me about the great opportunity that I have if I go to Oklahoma."
JH: I think you were the first athlete that Coach Stoops went to see. How does that make your feel?
RS: "That feels pretty good to know that he feels that way."
JH: How does it feel to have him in your home almost immediately after the game the Head Coach of the team that is going to play for the National Championship?
RS: "It is big deal, but you don't want to get a big head about it. So, you try to keep a level head and stay on course. He told me they are losing three safeties this year and they don't have many left on the roster. He said that I would have a good opportunity to come in a play early if I go to Oklahoma."
JH: Does the fact that OU is playing the National Championship for the third time in five years give them any more of an advantage in recruiting you?
RS: "It helps because everybody wants to play for the hardware. That makes you feel good about them because they are playing for the hardware."
JH: Now that you can look back on your great high school career what would you say about it?
RS: "I feel pretty good about it. I am glad I spent the time I did with them because they really didn't have any safeties when I got here. I got a chance to play and do a lot of things, and I played with some great guys. I got a chance to play in the semi-finals three out of four years. And we went to the state championship game last year."
JH: What is going on in recruiting at this time?
RS: "I am trying to figure out what I want to do still. I know that I am getting some visits and I am trying to decide what factors I am dealing with so I can make a good decision after I take my visits."
JH: Have you narrowed your choices down at all?
RS: "I am still looking at Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Nebraska, USC and Penn State. I still don't have a leader at this point."
JH: Who will you visit this weekend?
RS: "We are going to Nebraska this weekend."
