RECRUITING: Is Carter still committed to OU?

Jenks defensive back Jason Carter talks about his trip to OSU and what he's looking for in a college

JH: Are you still committed to OU?

"Not really. Well, I am still committed to OU, but to be honest I am leaning to OSU now. They are going to give me the opportunity to play both ways and Oklahoma wants me to just play cornerback. I will be able to play early at OSU. I don't know if I can play early at OU, because they have a lot of people coming back at cornerback. OU doesn't really know what position they really want me to play."

JH: Is the fact that OSU beat OU a factor hear and does it outweigh the fact that OU has won a national title within the last two years?

"I am trying to set my own kind of standards. OSU needs the kind of player that I am and Lawrence Pinson has committed to them as well. The thing is that OU has too many guys that are coming back that play the positions that I play. I don't know how long it will take me to get some playing time at OU."

JH: Do you feel the programs are equal?

"I don't think that the programs are equal, but the fact that OU has won championships doesn't mean anything to me. I want to go to a school where I can play and that will use my talents in the best way possible."

JH Does the fact Lawrence committed to OSU have any influence on your decision?

"No, that doesn't have anything to do with my decision. We thought we were going to play at OU together, but he never got a scholarship offer from OU. If we get to play together, great, but it's not the end of the world if we don't."

JH: So, in a nutshell you are not committed to OU and you are now leaning to OSU?

"No, I am still OU, but I am really going to think things over for a couple of weeks."

JH: So, you are still committed to OU?
