RECRUITING: DT liked what he saw in Norman

Dallas, Texas defensive tackle DeMarcus Granger talks about his visit to Norman.

DeMarcus Granger, DL, 6-3, 325, 5.2, DALLAS (KIMBALL HS) TEXAS:

JH: What did you think of your visit to OU?

DG: "It was good. It was real good."

JH: Can you get into it a little bit more?

DG: "I just thought everything about it was good. The football program and the system they use is great. Then, the academic program was good and the people around the program are good. I knew Lendy Holmes and a couple of other guys real well from high school football, and they were great guys. There is no amomosity on that football team at all because they all get along with each other."

JH: What did you think of OU defensive tackle coach Jackie Shipp?

DG: "Coach Shipp is a real down to earth dude and he tells it like it is. He doesn't go too high or too low, and he doesn't sugarcoat anything. He just tells it like it is. He would be a very good coach to play for."

JH: Did you get a chance to watch the OU defensive tackles on film or or in practice? And if you did, what did you think?

DG: "I like their scheme for the defensive tackles because they are attacking up field making plays. They drive off the ball and try to get up field so that they can make plays. It is a very nice scheme."

JH: Now that you have visited Norman does OU have a better chance to sign you?

DG: "I am really not wanting to say anything about who I am leaning towards or anything. I am trying to keep an open mind. I had a good visit to OU and to LSU. I go to Arizona State this weekend. Then I am going to Tennessee and Oklahoma State in January. I want to take all my visits and then sit down and take notes and see how everything shakes out. I guess I can say that OU will be one of the teams that I am considering at the end. I am pretty confident in saying that."
