RECRUITING: Florida OL ready to give OU its shot

Plantation, Fla. offensive lineman Jeffrey Owens update.

Jeffrey Owens, DT, 6-7, 275, 4.9, PLANTATION, FLORIDA:

JH: How is recruiting going with you?

JO: "My last visit was to Virginia Tech this past weekend."

JH: What did you think of Virginia Tech?

JO: "It went pretty good."

JH: Are you still interested in Oklahoma?

JO: "I just got off the phone with Coach Wilson. It went pretty well. I like Oklahoma a lot."

JH: What remains with your recruiting visits?

JO: "I have just been to Virginia Tech and Georgia. I am going to Oklahoma this weekend and then Miami on the 17th and Florida State in January."

JH: Do you have a leader?

JO: "Right now I don't have a favorite. They are good schools and I enjoy talking to all of them. It is going to be a tough decision for me and I am trying to make the right decision."

JH: You are considering two schools in Florida, so do you really want to leave the state of Florida?

JO: "It would be tough to leave the state, but I am going to see how everything works out with these out-of-state schools. It all depends on how I feel on my visit and how my visits go."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

JO: "I know they have a winning tradition and they know how to win. They recruit well and they have a lot of things going for them. I am just going to try to make the best of my visit this weekend."
