RECRUITING: Kelly preparing to make an impact

Longview, Texas WR and OU commit Malcolm Kelly update.

Malcolm Kelly, WR, 6-3, 195, 4.45, LONGVIEW, TEXAS:

JH: How are your workouts going?

MK: "I took off the last two weeks, but I will start back up when I get back from my visit to Oklahoma this weekend."

JH: Are you going to take your official visit to OU this weekend?

MK: "I am looking forward to it. Coach (Bob) Stoops and Coach (Darrell) Wyatt came by the school today. They talked to me about my opportunities next year and told me that if I work hard that I have a good chance to come in and start next year."

JH: What are you going to do to get ready to come to Norman in the summer?

MK: "I am running track and I am going to get my speed up. After track season I am going to the weight room to lift weighst. I want to get my upper-body stronger to get off the line of scrimmage. Then I am going to hire a personal trainer the final six weeks of school for a six-week program. When school is out I am going up there a week later and get into Coach (Jerry) Schmidt's program. I know that is going to be tough, but I need to get into it I a hurry if I want to reach my goals my freshman year."

JH: What are you running in the forty?

MK: "Last year when I ran 40 times I ran a 4.48, and that was on cool day with a slight breeze. I think I am going to run a 4.48 again or maybe a 4.47. I am pretty sure I can get it down with a good training period."
