Brian Simmons, DT, 6-5, 305, HARGRAVE MILITARY ACADEMY, VIRGINIA:
JH: I guess you have called to give us good news?
BS: "Coach Shipp made another visit to see me last night and we just talked over some things. He told me some more things about OU and how I could fit into the program. He knew how much I liked Oklahoma, so he asked me why I hadn't already committed because he knew that I liked Oklahoma a lot. He wasn't putting any pressure on me at all. It was just one of many questions, but it got me thinking. I have been thinking about it for some time and I even told Coach (Bob) Stoops on my visit that I was probably going to do it soon. I still had my Auburn visit set, but I am not sure what they are doing and I don't want to go there anyway. I have known for a long time that in my heart that Oklahoma is the school for me, and that is where I want to play my college football. So, you are the first person that I called to let you know."
JH: What was it that Coach Shipp said that put you over the top?
BS: "It wasn't anything that he said specifically, and to be honest it has always been the place where I wanted to play. I just wanted to take a couple of visits and make sure that I was checking out all my options. It is an hour-and-a-half drive from Greensboro to where I am at, and that meant a lot to me that he would come that far for an hour-and-a-half conversation."
JH: Now that you have recruiting out of the way, what are you going to do to get ready to play at OU?
BS: "I am going to train as hard as I can to get in the best shape that I can. I realize how good the program is and it is an honor to be a part of it. I know that the competition is going to be tough and I am going to do everything I can to get ready."
JH: When will you move to Norman?
BS: "I am going to do my best to get to summer workouts. I want to get there as soon as possibl, because I want to get right into the program and get myself in the best possible shape."
