RECRUITING: OU's chances for Bennett dwindling?

Texas' top tight end talks about the Sooners' chances to land his signature.

Martellus Bennett, TE, 6-6, 240, 4.75, ALIEF (TAYLOR HS), TEXAS:

JH: Do you like one sport over the other?

MB: "I just split my desire to play both. I just like whatever is in season."

JH: Is basketball a major factor in your decision?

MB: "It is a big factor because I want to continue to play both sports."

JH: What is your visit schedule at this point?

MB: "I am going to Miami on Saturday. I have been to Texas and Oklahoma thus far. I am going to take two more after that. I am looking at Cal, Duke, Kansas and Texas A&M for my final visits."

JH: How is your recruiting situation shaping up?

MB: "I like them all. UT and Miami are my leaders at this point. I just like the system and how they use the tight at both schools. Miami has always thrown the ball to the tight end and Texas threw the ball to the tight end much better this year."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma at this time?

MB: "I like Oklahoma a lot, but they haven't shown me that they are going to give the ball that much to the tight end. They haven't been getting the ball to the tight end all that much."

JH: As far as basketball goes who has called and who is recruiting you?

MB: "I have Duke calling, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Oklahoma and Texas. All say that I can play basketball as well as football there. Kansas has also called."

JH: What coaches are coming into your home this week?

MB: "Coach Christopher (sp) is coming in from Miami tonight. I am going to see Coach (Bob) Stoops sometime tomorrow."
