RECRUITING: OU makes impression on Cali LB duo

Lakewood, Claif. linebackers Adrian McCovey and Luthur Brown update.

Luthur Brown, LB, 6-2, 227, 4.7, LAKEWOOD, CALIFORNIA:

JH: How are things going, are you still traveling?

LB: "I am tired, so I really don't know I am doing. I am really to go to sleep, but we are in Dallas at the airport."

JH: What did you think about your visit to OU?

LB: "It was very good. They had a nice campus, good players and all kinds of good stuff. OU is a very good program."

JH: You said going into the visit that the big key for you was which school made you feel the most comfortable. How did you feel at OU?

LB: "Yeah, it is a cool place and I feel I got a long well with the players there. I think Oklahoma is a place where I could spend the next four years of my life playing football and getting an education."

JH: What did you think of the program itself?

LB: "I felt like it was nice and well put together program. Bob Stoops knows what he is doing out there. The practice was intense, even though they only had on shoulder pads and helmets."

JH: What are you thoughts on the fact that OU doesn't have a lot of depth at linebacker?

LB: "That would be a great opportunity for me. If I went there I would only have one or two guys to pass to play for a great program like Oklahoma."

JH: Now that you have visited OU, are they going to be in serious consideration for your signature?

LB: "Yes, of course. OU has a good program and a good campus, so I have to give them a chance."

JH: How is recruiting shaping up with you at the moment?

LB: "I am also considering LSU, USC, Miami and Arizona as well as OU. I will visit the other four schools in January. My decision will come down to where I am going to feel comfortable. I am sure I can make it a home wherever I go, but it is going to come down to which schools makes me feel the most comfortable."

JH: Is OU going to be in contention until the end?

LB: "Yes, without question."

Adrian McCovey, LB, 6-3, 218, 4.65, LAKEWOOD, CALIFORNIA:

JH: What did you think about your visit to OU?

AM: "It was fine. I liked it a lot. It was interesting. It was interesting to look at their backer situation because they don't have that many linebackers playing there."

JH: What was interesting about it?

AM: "The players were cool and I got along with them well. I like the coaches and everything."

JH: What did you learn about Oklahoma that you didn't know before?

AM: "I didn't know that they didn't have any depth at linebacker. They only had a couple of linebackers. I didn't realize that at all."

JH: What did you think of the facilities and the program itself?

AM: "The facilities were nice, and they have a pretty good weight room. Academics are nice a they have tutors every where and their academic facility is open 24/7."

JH: Did the visit enhance the Sooners chances to sign you?

AM: "Yeah, my chances of signing with OU are improved."

JH: What is next in recruiting with you?

AM: "I am going to Miami, Oregon, Oregon State and Arizona in January."

JH: How does OU stack up in recruiting with you at the moment?

AM: "I don't know if any other school can offer me more than OU just offered me. OU is a great program, and I know that I can get some early playing time."
