Alex Daniels, ATH, COLUMBUS BROOKHAVEN, 6-3, 225, 4.5, OHIO:
JH: How did your visit go to OU this weekend?
AD: "It went great. I had a great time talking to Coach Stoops, Coach Pelini and the whole coaching staff. They showed me a good time down there."
JH: You said that you wanted to see how the Sooners go about their business of being a great football team. Did you get to see what you wanted to see?
AD: "It was great. The practice was so intense. The coaches were really prepared and they were already preparing for USC. Saturday they were working on themselves and the coaches were really into it. It is easy to see why they are so good. It was interesting to see how they react when the heat is on."
JH: Did you get a chance to watch film of the positions that you want to play?
AD: "When I got there it was late. When I got there Friday they just showed me around the Switzer Center and I met the players. At practice, I watched the linebackers, running backs and safeties. What I liked about it was how intense practice was and even the scout team got after you."
JH: What did you think of the banquet?
AD: "It was great. They had skits with the freshman and sophomore when they made fun of what went on at practice. The coaches presented just about everybody with awards, not just the star players. They gave an award for the most inspirational player, and I just thought that was great."
JH: Did your visit enhance the Sooners chances of signing you?
AD: "Yeah it does, but I was kind of homesick. I think I can make the transition to become a Sooner, but I did get homesick when I was there. I enjoyed the players and coaches so much I think I can overcome that stuff."
JH: Did you come close to committing to OU this weekend?
JH: Where does your recruiting stand at the moment?
AD: "I think the Sooners are one of the top notch programs in the country, and I already know what they have to offer me and what I can offer them. As I look forward to the rest of recruiting, I am going to look forward to which school can make me feel the most comfortable and which school can give the best opportunity for playing time. I just got a little homesick at OU, but the players took me in and treated me like I was family. Larry Birdine was my host and he treated me like I was his brother. He and I are similar type people. He said I would make the adjustment if I came to OU."
JH: That fact you got homesick something that could keep you from signing with OU?
AD: "It is something that I can overcome, but at that point and time I was missing home. It won't be a negative factor for OU."
JH: Are you going to take any other visits?
AD: "I really don't know, but I will know after Christmas."
JH: Do you have a leader at this point?
AD: "No, I am keeping everything on an even keel right now. Every school that I visit puts their best foot forward. I pretty much know what to except when I go there, so I look at which school makes me the most comfortable and things like that. I will sit down with my mom and my coach in early January and try to sort things out. I have seen OU, Minnesota and Ohio State. I may take another visit in January."
