RECRUITING: Blanton says his verbal is solid

Forney, Texas superstar DaBryan Blanton talks about his commitment to Oklahoma

JH: I understand you have committed to OU?

DB: "That is correct."

JH: What turned the tide for OU?

"On my visit I had a great time. As soon as I got off the plane I knew that Oklahoma was the place for me. I got to know the players real quickly. I bonded with them and they let me bond with them and I knew they would be a great bunch of teammates to play with."

JH: Are you going to cancel your visits to LSU and Tennessee?

"I will need to sit down and talk with my mom. I know in my heart that I want to go to OU and I don't care if I take any visits or not, but my mom wanted me to take all my visits just to make sure of my decision. I need to sit down with my mom later tonight and see what she wants to me to do. We are scheduled to go to LSU, but I don't know if we will go there or not. The same goes for Tennessee. I don't know if we will keep that visit or not."

JH: One recruiting service says you are a soft commitment to OU, is your commitment solid to OU?

"Yes, my commitment is solid, no matter if I have to take visits or not."

JH: How do you feel you will fit into Oklahoma's offense?

"Oklahoma runs a lot of four wide receiver sets and I can see myself in the slot running a lot of quick screens and reverses. I think I can get vertical on them from the slot as well. I have caught the ball a few times out of the backfield at Forney, but they didn't throw the ball to me that much, but I feel I have good hands."

JH: Do you return kicks and punts as well?

"I return kickoffs and I hope to do that again at OU."
