RECRUITING: Orlando OL set for trip to Norman

Orlando, Fla. offensive lineman Matt Hardrick update.

Matt Hardrick, OL, 6-5, 342, 5.7, ORLANDO (EDGEWATER HS), FLORIDA:

JH: What is going on with you at this time?

MH: "Right now I am mainly focusing on my schoolwork and trying to stay on top of the recruiting process."

JH: Which is harder schoolwork or recruiting?

MH: "For me, schoolwork is harder because I am working hard to qualify. Actually, they are both hard but with the recruiting process I can control some of it. You stay busy with all these visits and everything."

JH: How is recruiting going for you?

MH: "This past weekend I was at Florida State and that is my only visit so far. I am going to Oklahoma this weekend and then I go to Florida and then Ole Miss. I am trying to get a visit within the week with Miami. I am not sure when that is, but if you will call me back I will let you know by next week."

JH: How was your visit to Florida State?

MH: "I really did like my visit to Florida State. It turned out to be a great visit. I liked everything about it and there wasn't anything that I didn't like about it."

JH: Now that you are taking visits are you looking at recruiting any differently?

MH: "Recruiting has been cracking down to just the schools that I am interested in. All the colleges are backing off, so I am just dealing with a few coaches and a few schools. This is a better situation for me because now I am just dealing with the schools that I want to."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

MH: "My thoughts are very high on Oklahoma. Hopefully when I take my visit this weekend they can impress me with the things they have to offer and things that I need academically. Hopefully I can get along with the coaches and the strength and conditioning coach."

JH: What are your thoughts on OU offensive line coach Kevin Wilson?

MH: "Coach Wilson is a great guy. We have a great relationship and we talk all the time. We talked last Wednesday and joked around a lot."

JH: At this point in the recruiting process what is the most important point that you are looking for?

MH: "It is important that I make sure that I feel comfortable not only with the school, but the coaches and the strength coordinator. Those are the guys you are going to be with 24/7. It is just important that you get along with those guys very well."

JH: Do you have a leader?

MH: "No not really. I can say that Oklahoma is going to be among my final choices, and right now they are among my top two choices along with Florida State."
