RECRUITING: If at first you don't succeed...

LANCE MITCHELL, MLB, 6'3, 240, 4.5, SAN FRANCISCO C.C., CALIFORNIA:

A 747 landed at Will Roger World Airport around 9:30 this evening.

The plane started in Florida and took about three hours getting to OKC.

Getting off that plane was the biggest, baddest junior college linebacker in the country.

Was he lost, confused or did the plane make an unexpected U-turn?

Apparently, he knew exactly where the plane had landed, because once in OKC he was picked up by OU Assistant football coaches and taken to Norman. There he was registered in Sooner housing with his best friend in junior college.

Thus on Monday Junior College All-American Middle Linebacker Lance Mitchell will be enrolled and attending class at the University of Oklahoma.

He is not eligible yet to play for OU, but is expected to be soon.

I will have complete details of this amazing story on Sunday.

Sooner fans always have faith, because good things happen to good people and Lance Mitchell, Pasha Jackson and Brent Venables are good people.

It's good to be a Sooner isn't!
