RECRUITING: OU secures verbal from Florida star

Hallandale, Florida line prospect Davin Jospeh talks about his commitment to Okalhoma

The Oklahoma Sooners continue to make a late run at one of the nation's finest recruiting classes as just moments ago the Sooners earned the verbal commitment from superstart lineman Davin Joseph of Hallandale, Florida. Joseph is considered one of the top 50 players in Florida. Joseph called this reporter right after he finished talking to Sooner defensive tackle Coach Jackie Shipp and OU Head Coach Bob Stoops.

JH: What is the news?

DJ: I am going to Oklahoma.

JH: The loud roar you hear is from Sooner fans screaming ‘Way to go Joseph!'

DJ: I already love Sooner fans! Those people love their Sooner football!

JH: Why Oklahoma?

"I feel that Oklahoma is the best place for me to reach all my goals. I have the confidence in my coaching staff that I will become the best player I can be."

JH: You get along well with Coach Shipp and Coach Stoops don't you?

"I admire Coach (Jackie) Shipp and Coach (Bob) Stoops as people and sure, that had a factor. However, I had to make this decision based on what I can accomplish at OU."

JH: Was this a tough decision for you at the end?

"Yeah, it becomes tough when you wonder what if, what if and what if. You begin to wonder what can really happen if you go to this place or that."

Joseph picked the Sooners over Michigan State.
