Sooners, Cowboys set for round two

Tip-off for the 206th Bedlam meeting between the Sooners and Cowboys is set for 8:05 p.m. Monday night in Stillwater. The Matchup
Oklahoma State comes into Monday night's Bedlam showdown at 17-3 overall and 6-2 in Big 12 play. Oklahoma is 17-4 overall and 6-2 in conference action. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN by announcers Ron Franklin (play-by-play), Fran Fraschilla (color) and Stacey Dales-Schuman (sideline). Tip-off is set for 8:05 p.m. (CST).

The Rankings
The Cowboys were ranked 10th in the Associated Press and 11th in the Coaches Top 25 Poll released last Monday. The Sooners checked in at No. 14 in the Associated Press and 16th in the Coaches Poll. This week's new rankings will be announced late Monday afternoon. In the RPI (Ratings Percentage Index) that is used to help determine seeding for the NCAA Tournament, the Cowboys were ranked 5th and the Sooners 14th as of Sunday.

The Series
Oklahoma holds a 119-86 lead in the all-time series against Oklahoma State. OU Head Coach Kelvin Sampson is 10-13 overall vs. Oklahoma State and 2-8 against the Cowboys in Stillwater. OSU Head Coach Eddie Sutton is 18-13 against OU. Overall, the Sooners are 40-55 against the Cowboys in Stillwater. Oklahoma hasn't won in Stillwater since the 1999-00 season and haven't swept the Cowboys since the 1998-99 season.

About the Cowboys
Since their 67-57 loss to Oklahoma in Norman on Jan. 24, OSU has won three straight games, including two road wins at Colorado and Baylor. The Cowboys, who are 10-0 in Stillwater this season, are led by senior forward Joey Graham. Graham, a 6-foot-7 combo forward, leads the Big 12 in scoring with an 18.4 point per game average. In all, the Cowboys start four seniors and seven of their top eight scorers are seniors. The lone non-senior is freshman guard JamesOn Curry. Curry, a 6-foot-3 freshman from Mebane, N.C., was inserted into the starting line-up three games ago and has been on fire ever since. Curry scored a career-high 22 points against Colorado in his first start and is averaging 11.1 points per game as a starter. Senior point guard John Lucas ranks third in the Big 12 in scoring with a 17.7 point per game average. Lucas, who shoots 40.9 percent from 3-point range, leads the league in 3-point field goals made (56). OSU head coach Eddie Sutton is 342-131 in his 15th year in Stillwater. For his career, Sutton is 772-295 in 35 seasons.
