RECRUITING: New Jersey RB lists Oklahoma early

New Jersey running back Knowshon Moreno talks about his game, interest in OU and early favorites.

Knowshon Moreno, RB, 5'11, 203, 4.45, MIDDLETOWN (SOUTH HS), NEW JERSEY:

Mark this name down. Knowshon Moreno will be one of the most highly-recruited running backs in the country.

Heading into his senior season, Knowshon will be a four-year starter at running back, and he plays a little on defense. This past year he played some outside linebacker and for this upcoming year he will line up at corner. Last year Moreno rushed for over 1,700 yards and 41 touchdowns.

"Stats are not really important to me," said Moreno. "It is all about winning championships. It doesn't matter how many yards I rush for."

Moreno is a do-it-all style of running back who has a style of his own.

"I try to hit the hole as fast as I can," said Moreno. "I can do a little juke or run through people. I guess I am a slasher to a certain extent. I think I can run out of any offense, but especially one-back stuff and I-formation stuff."

Moreno can bench 305 pounds and he runs track (100M/10.9, 200M/21.9, LJ/21'6 and triple jump). Moreno has never been to a college football game and he doesn't expect to go to any this year. Moreno has already been offered by 16 schools, and it is very early in his recruiting process.

"I am open to every school right now," said Moreno. "Oklahoma is one of the schools that I a definitely interested in. I need to look into it a little more, but they have a great college and a great program. They are one of the schools that have offered me early. I have watched Maryland and Virginia quite a bit. Both are nice schools, but I am still looking at this point."

Moreno says he expects to take all five visits.
