Jeremy Barr, PF, 6'9, 260, HOUSTON (WESTBURY CHRISTIAN HS), TEXAS:
JH: How is your season going?
JB: "My season has been pretty well. We have a couple of guys sick right now, but we are still 31-6. I am averaging around 23 points per game and 11 rebounds per game."
JH: Describe your game for us?
JB: "Right now my game is in the post and down on the block. I play center on my high school team, so I haven't had much of an opportunity to develop and outside game. I need to work on developing a real good outside jump shot from the free throw line and outside of that. What I do well right now is score down on the block. I have developed some good moves down on the block. I have a good turnaround (jumper) and I am a good offensive rebounder. I get a lot of points of the offensive glass."
JH: So, you do want to develop more of an outside game?
JB: "I hope this summer I can play a little more on the wing or a little more outside to improve my game from that area."
JH: What teams do you like in recruiting?
JB: "My top teams right now are Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Colorado State. I don't really have a favorite right now. They are all kind of even at this point. I want to make my decision by the end of April, and that is going to be very hard to do."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?
JB: "Oklahoma has offered me and I like Oklahoma a lot. They are a team that likes to use a big man or two inside. I have seen them play a few times and in every game they make sure their big men get involved in the game on the offensive end. They have their big men score a lot in their offense. Oklahoma's big men are not just in the game to mix it up, they are in the game to score and are a major part of their offense. That is similar to the kind of offense that I am in here, and that is the kind of offense that I am looking for."
JH: How many scholarship offers do you have at this point?
JB: "I have had about 13 scholarship offers. All the teams that I have mentioned have offered me."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma State?
JB: "I have seen them play a couple of times and they play very well as a team. They are a little more guard-oriented, but they tell me that is because of the makeup of their team."
JH: Have you set any official visits at this time?
JB: "I already have visits set to USC (3-12) and Colorado (3-30). I am going to visit Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, but I don't have those visits set yet."
NOTE: Barr has told Scout Network Ace Basketball Reporter Dave Telep that he will visit Texas Tech on March 5th and then USC the next weekend. Barr would not confirm form me that he is going to take that Texas Tech visit, but he has told other reporters that he will visit Texas Tech. Barr is a full qualifier already and will be a big catch for any school in the spring signing period.
