RECRUITING: Sooners in coveted WR's top five?

Virginia Beach, Va. wide receiver Percy Harvin update.

Percy Harvin comes into his senior one of the most highly recruited athletes in the country. Most college recruiters like him as a wide receiver, but he does a number of things at Landstown.

"I played running back, wide receiver and quarterback last year," said Harvin. "I would start out the game at wide receiver and then at some point in the game I would line-up at running back. Then I played at times during the season at quarterback. I like playing wide receiver best and that is where most colleges are recruiting me."

Last season Harvin caught 59 passes for 1,002 yards along with rushing for 690 yards and 32 combined touchdowns rushing and receiving. Harvin is also one of the best punt and kick returners in the country returning five punts for scores and three kickoffs for touchdowns.

Harvin had a punt return of 100-yards as he let one punt roll by him and then decided to pick it up and returned it all the way for a score. Harvin can bench 260 pounds, squats 360 and he has a 34 ½ vertical jump.

Harvin has already received 13 offers and he knows more are on the way.

"I am still wide open right now. I like them all," said Harvin. "I have been offered Miami, USC, LSU, Michigan, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Penn State, North Carolina, North Carolina State and Notre Dame.

"I like a lot of schools right now. I also have an interest in Oklahoma and Auburn right now. I am not closing the door on any school right now. My top five would have to be USC, Miami, Florida, Tennessee and Florida State, but again it is very early and I haven't started talking to all the schools yet."

Harvin has qualified.
