Sooners continue domination of Baylor

Baylor forward Lawrence Roberts tries to muscle his way up for a shot against Oklahoma's Aaron McGhee (13) during the first half of the Sooners' 70-57 win over the Bears

Aaron McGhee scored 23 points and Jason Detrick chipped in 18 as Oklahoma continued their domination of Baylor with a 70-57 win Wednesday night in Norman.

With the win the Sooners improve to 18-3 overall — 7-2 in conference play — and notched their 15th straight win over the Bears since the inception of the Big 12. Baylor has not beaten OU since the 1977-78 season.

Detrick came off the bench to immediately spark the Sooners, scoring 14 of his 18 in the first half.

Oklahoma took a commanding 28-13 lead with just over eight minutes to play in the half, but for the third consecutive game nearly blew a big lead after the Bears went on a 13-2 run to cut OU's lead to four.

Daryan Selvy added a free throw and Hollis Price scored his first two points of the game with two seconds to go in the first half on a driving layup to give Oklahoma a 33-26 lead at the half.

Price went on to finish with a season-low six points, but also pitched in seven rebounds and four assists.

Oklahoma pushed the lead to double digits to start the second half behind an 16-8 run spurred by McGhee, who scored eight of his 23 in that stretch.

The Sooners, who had been outrebounded in five of their last seven games, bounced back on the boards outrebounding the Bears by a 42-24 clip. McGhee led OU's rebounding efforts with eight while Selvy pitched in six boards. Jabahri Brown and Ebi Ere also added six rebounds for the Sooners.

Wendell Greenleaf and Matt Sayman led the Bears with 15 points apiece.

Next up for the Sooners is a Big 12 conference road matchup with Texas A&M this Saturday in College Station.
