Aaron McGhee scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but it was free throw shooting down the stretch that helped No. 4 Oklahoma knock off Texas A&M, 68-64, Saturday in College Station.
Once again, OU built a double-digit lead in the second half only to lose it down the stretch.
Oklahoma led by as many as 12 points in the second half, but had their lead cut to 60-55 with just over three minutes to play. The Sooners quickly responded with two quick baskets in a span of 30 seconds on jump shots by McGhee and Quannas White to push the lead back to nine.
A&M responded again with a 6-0 run, capped by a three-pointer from Larry Scott to cut OU's lead to 64-61 with just under one minute to play.
The Sooners then hit 3-of-4 free throws down the stretch, two by McGhee and one by Price with 9.3 seconds left to seal the win.
Price, who struggled for most of the day to get ball against the Aggies' box and one defense, finished with 12 points after taking only seven shots.
Quannas White also pitched in a double-double effort scoring 12 points and dishing out 12 assists.
Nick Anderson led the Aggies with 19 points while Bernard King chipped in 17.
Free throw shooting proved to be the key stat down the stretch as the Sooners hit 19-of-23 from the charity stripe, while Texas A&M shot a miserable 61 percent while missing eleven shots from the line.
With the win Oklahoma improves to 19-3 overall and 8-2 in Big 12 play. Texas A&M falls to 9-15 overall and 3-7 in conference play.
Next up for the Sooners is round two of the Bedlam series with Oklahoma State Wednesday night in Stillwater.
