Stacey Dales scored 17 points and dished out eight assists, but it wasn't enough as No. 15 Texas used clutch free-throw shooting to knock off No. 3 Oklahoma, 68-62, Tuesday in Austin.
The Longhorns (17-8, 8-6), who also upset No. 4 Tennessee last week, hit 25-of-31 attempts from the free throw line, including five in overtime to seal the victory. Oklahoma (22-3, 12-2) only connected on 15-of-29 from behind the line.
Despite the lopsided difference at the charity stripe, Oklahoma had their chances down the stretch.
Freshmen guard Dionnah Jackson missed a potential game-winning jump shot from, you guessed it just beyond the free throw line, at the end of regulation.
Texas took an early four point lead in overtime, but OU missed two three-point attempts down the stretch that would have tied the game.
Along with struggling from the free throw line, the Sooners struggled shooting from the field as well.
Texas held the Sooners to 33 percent (20-of-60) shooting from the field. Dales, LaNeishea Caufield and Rosalind Ross combined for a 10-of-39 shooting night from the field.
Scoring in double figures for the Sooners along with Dales were Jaime Talbert (16), Caufield (12) and Ross (11).
Stacy Stephens led the Longhorns with 20 points.
The Sooners complete their two-game road trip with a 1 p.m. matchup with Missouri Saturday in Columbia.
