RECRUITING: OU-UT battle for defensive end?

Coveted Richardson, Texas defensive end Ugo Chinasa talks about his game, favorites and interest in Oklahoma.

UGO CHINASA, DE, 6'6, 220, 4.6, RICHARDSON (BERKNER HS), TEXAS:

Ugonna Chinasa is like a mad stork on the edge with his tall, lanky frame and ability to run. In fact, he looks a lot like former Sooner Dan Cody, who was a great defensive player over the last couple of years.

Chinasa broke into the starting line-up last season and finished with 64 tackles, four sacks, one interception for a 50-yard touchdown, three fumble recoveries and five forced fumbles.

"I play with my hand down and we play a 4-3 defense," said Chinasa. "I think I will play defensive end in college, and that is primarily where I want to play. I like playing defensive end because I get a chance to pass rush the quarterback, and that is what I like to do best."

Chinasa can bench 185 pounds, squats 390 and starts in hoops averaging 13 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Chinasa has been offered by Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma State and UCLA. And he is already coming up with favorites.

"I really like Oklahoma and Texas right now. They are both winning programs and both of them are sending players to the next level. Oklahoma is a great school, but I haven't had a chance to talk to their coaches yet. I am looking forward to talking to them and finding out more about their school."

Chinasa will take his ACT test in two weeks.
