RECRUITING: Offer coming soon for Texas FB

Cuero, Texas FB J.T. Rudd wants to stay in-state, but an OU offer may be too good to pass up.

J.T. Rudd, FB, 6'2, 230, 4.6, CUERO, TEXAS:

The fullback is back in the college game as every team is trying to run a balanced offense. If you want to have any kind of running game you need a quality fullback, which makes J.T. Rudd a highly sought after prospect.

Rudd is a very talented player who has played fullback, tight end, defensive end, linebacker and wide receiver. That kind of versatility appeals to college coaches, but Rudd has a pretty good idea where he will play in college.

"My primary positions are fullback and tight end," said Rudd. "I prefer fullback because I can look and see who I am going after. I can get a running start at them and try to knock their head off all the time. I just get a little more time to read things at fullback."

Rudd goes into his senior season as a three-year starter. Last season, he caught 14 passes for 220 yards and four touchdowns. He also scored on two two-point tries. On defense, Rudd finished with 82 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, nine sacks and three fumble recoveries.

Rudd can bench 360 pounds, squats 500 and he has posted a 32-inch vertical jump. Last year Rudd went to summer camps in Austin and College Station, and this summer Rudd hopes to attend the OU, Texas A&M and UT camps. And it everything works out, If all works out, he will also attend the LSU and TCU camps.

Rudd is still looking for his first offer, but he is hearing from most of the top schools in his region and he feels the first offer will be coming soon.

"I like OU a lot," said Rudd. "As much as I would like to stay in Texas, I really like OU. OU is really recruiting me hard and they are showing me the most interest. I like UT, but they are not showing me as much interest as OU. Right now, I like OU a lot. OU is recruiting me as a fullback and I am fine with that. I am open to play anywhere and fullback is where I think I am best at, so that would be great with me. OU is talking about offering me soon."

Rudd's GPA is in good shape, but he has not received scores back on his ACT.
