Sooner women clinch Big 12 Championship

Dales big game lifts Sooners past Missouri and to their second straight conference championship

It's only fitting that one of the players who helped rebuild the Oklahoma program played a vital role in the game that helped clench the Sooners second consecutive Big 12 Championship.

Stacey Dales saved her best for when her team need it the most scoring a career-high 30 points in No. 3 Oklahoma's, 90-70, win over Missouri Saturday in Columbia. Dales connected on 13-of-18 shots and also dished out five assists.

Trailing 47-45 with just under 16 minutes left in the game, the Sooners used a 21-7 run to take the lead for good and blow the game open.

Rosalind Ross was red-hot for the Sooners shooting three-pointers, hitting on 6-of-8 attempts from behind the arc to finish with 18 points.

Caton Hill and LaNeishea Caufield also chipped in double figures for the Sooners with 15 and 12 points respectively.

Wannette Smith led the Tigers with 17 points.

Oklahoma returns to Norman for their final regular season game against Texas Tech Wednesday. Dales and four other OU seniors — Caufield, Ross, Shannon Selmon and Jamie Talbert — will be playing their final home games as Sooners.
