RECRUITING: Lamptey still interested in Sooners

The latest on giant seven-footer Julius Lamptey

JH: How is your season going?

"We are doing pretty good. We are going to the area section of our playoffs. We were 15-9 on the season and we need one more victory to go to state. I am averaging 22 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks per game.

JH: How has your game improved this season?

"My footwork and speed are so much better. I have been set back the last two weeks with a strained calf muscle. I don't think I will be 100 percent again this season, but it's the playoffs so I am going to play as hard as I can. I will have to rehab it after the season. My doctor says I may have a tear in it. I will have a MRI after the season is over."

JH: How is recruiting shaping up for you?

"I am going to take a couple of visits in March. I have visits set up with Illinois, Cincinnati and Georgia. All three have offered me. I am considering Washington, OU, OSU and UCONN. I am not really sure how interested UCONN is. UCONN is the only school among those four who have not offered me at this time."

JH: What do you think of OU and OSU?

"I think they are both great schools, however I kind of want to get out of the state. I think I can grow more out of the state and earn more notoriety out of state. Both are great programs and I have an interest, but we will have to see how it works out."

JH: Do you have a leader at this point?

"No, I don't. I could still go anywhere at this point."
