Led by the strong left arm of Kami Keiter, the Oklahoma softball team advanced to the next round of the NCAA Regional in Norman with a 2-0 win over Wichita State Friday night.

Keiter, who had a no-hitter through one out in the sixth-inning, ended up allowing two hits but struck out 10 en route to recording her career-best 13th shutout of the season.

Offensively, the Sooners jumped on the Shockers early. In the bottom of the first, Norelle Dickson led off the inning with a bunt single and Kristen Vesely followed with a single up the middle.

The pair then stole second and third, and one batter later Dickson scored on a fielder's choice after a bunt attempt by Jessica Leslie. The Shockers actually had Dickson caught between third and home after fielding the bunt, but then attempted to tag Vesely, who was running between second and third, which allowed Dickson to score.

The Sooners would add another run in the second inning when Nicole Denes scored from second after a fielding error by the Wichita State shortstop attempting to field a ball hit by Vesely.

With the win, the 14th-seeded Sooners (45-18) advance to tomorrow's winners bracket match-up against third-seeded Louisiana-Lafayette.

The Ragin' Cajuns, who improved to 51-8 this season after their 7-5 win over Oregon on Friday, lost to the Sooners 7-3 on March 17 at the Kia Classic in Fullerton, Calif in the only meeting between the two school's this season.
First pitch for the Sooners and Ragin' Cajuns is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the OU Softball Complex in Norman.
