The 14th-seeded Oklahoma softball team advanced to the NCAA regional championship with 6-3 win over No. 3 Louisiana-Layfayette Saturday in Norman.

The Sooners jumped out to quick 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but the Ragin' Cajuns fought back with three in the bottom of the fifth on a three-run home run off of pitcher Kami Keiter to tie the game.

However, the game wouldn't be tied for long as freshman Alison Horne's pinch-hit in the top of the sixth would give OU a 5-3 lead and prove to be the eventual game-winning hit.

Other than the three-run home run, Keiter (31-6) was spectacular giving up only three hits while striking out 12.

With the win, the Sooners (49-15) advance to Sunday's regional championship at 1 p.m against Oregon (36-24).

The Sooners, who need just one win on Sunday to advance to the next regional round, would play at 3:30 p.m. should they lose the game on Sunday.
