Double-trouble strikes again.
Playing in his final home game at the Lloyd Noble Center, Aaron McGhee recorded his 11th double-double of the season Oklahoma's (23-4, 12-3) 89-75 win over Iowa State (12-17, 4-11) on senior night Tuesday in Norman.
McGhee, who has had seven double-doubles in his last nine games, scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Sooners capped a perfect 16-0 home season with the win.
The senior forward from Aurora, Ill. helped the Sooners jump out to a quick 7-0 lead over the Cyclones and scored seven of OU's first 11 points.
After taking a 32-25 lead at the half, Oklahoma blew the game open in the first five minutes of the second session with a 23-8 run, in which McGhee added 12 points, to take a commanding 55-33 lead.
The Cyclones stormed back with an 18-6 run of their own to cut OU's lead to 61-51, but that's where junior guard Hollis Price took over with six consecutive points to break the game open for good.
Price finished with 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting.
Along with McGhee, seniors Daryan Selvy, Michael Cano, Richard Ainooson were honored in a pre-game ceremony before playing their final games at the Lloyd Noble Center.
All four started the game along with Hollis Price and helped OU take an early 7-4 lead before they were replaced at the 15:56 mark. The game marked the first career starts for Ainooson and Cano. Selvy scored seven points in his final home game while Ainooson hit a late bucket and Cano finished with one point.
Selvy and McGhee, both major contributors for the past two seasons, helped the Sooners compile a 29-1 record at the LNC since their arrival in Norman. OU's perfect home record this season marks the first undefeated season at home since 1994-95. Oklahoma has now won their last 22 home games.
Oklahoma wraps up the regulars season against Colorado this Saturday in Boulder. The Sooners have already clinched a first round bye and the No. 2 seed at next weeks Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City.
