RECRUITING: Great name, great game

Aldine, Texas safety Mister Alexander talks about his game and interest in Oklahoma.

MISTER ALEXANDER, S, 6'2, 191, 4.6, ALDINE (EISENHOWER HS), TEXAS:

Blessed with one of the greatest names in prep football that in itself will get Mister Alexander a lot of attention, but it's when he puts on the pads and starts knocking some heads around that he really begins to become the major focus of fans and college recruiters alike.

Alexander broke into the starting line-up last season at outside linebacker and free safety and was impressive at both positions.

"I really think I will be a safety in college," said Alexander. "At free safety I get to cover receivers, and that is something that I do very well. But I also get to hit and support the run, and that is also something that I enjoy."

Alexander has never been to a summer football camp, but this summer he hopes to attend Miami and OU summer camps. Alexander participated in the triple jump (47 3 ¼) and long jump (22) in track, and he can bench 245 pounds, squats 415 and has a vertical jump of 33 ½ inches.

At this point, Alexander has received offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Houston, Texas, Texas Tech, Georgia Tech, Washington State, Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State.

"I don't have a favorite at this point, "said Alexander. "I am still researching all the schools and gathering information on all the schools. Right now I like Oklahoma, Nebraska, OSU, USC, Miami and LSU.

"Miami and LSU have sent me camp information, but I am not sure I can go to their camps. I really like OU because they are always playing for some kind of championship."

Alexander is still looking to qualify, but he is very close.
