RECRUITING: Murray back from trip to Norman

Did the Sooners make an impression on Las Vegas running back DeMarco Murray during his visit to OU's summer camp last weekend? See inside for Murray's answer and much, much more on his trip to Norman.

DeMarco Murray, RB, 6-0, 185, 4.4, Las Vegas (Bishop Gorman HS), Nevada:

JH: What did you think of your camp experience at Oklahoma last weekend?

DM: "I think I did pretty well. I did only one day and it was pretty fun the day that I did it. I was pretty fun watching my teammates do drills and watching them compete. I was pretty excited. I liked it."

JH: I know you looked around the Oklahoma football program a lot. What were your impressions?

DM: "I saw all their accomplishment in the Switzer Center. OU has won more games in the last five years than anybody else, and they have had so many players decorated among the best in college football. Norman is a college town and a lot of fun. There aren't a lot of things to do there, so OU football is the biggest deal in town."

JH: This wasn't your first time in Norman was it?

DM: "I also went to the spring game in Norman."

JH: Were you able to get an idea on how you could fit into the offense if you signed with the Sooners?

DM: "I really didn't get into it a bunch, but they told me they could use me in a variety of ways. They told me they could swing me out and also line me up in the slot. They said they could get me out on the edge and not just pound me up the middle all the time. They said, because of my versatility, that I could be used in a number of different ways."

JH: Now that you have seen OU a second time what are your thoughts on the Sooners?

DM: "My thoughts on Oklahoma really haven't changed. I enjoy talking to Coach (Cale) Gundy and we are just working on getting more and more trust for each other each day. I am working to better my relationship with Coach Gundy every day, and that is very important for me."

JH: At this time how is recruiting shaping up for you?

DM: "Right now I really don't have a top two or three. I am still trying to consider everyone. I am still looking at Miami, LSU, Florida State, Florida, Oklahoma, Michigan, Texas A&M, Wisconsin and USC."

JH: Will you take any other trips this summer?

DM: "I am going to try to hit Michigan and the Florida schools later this summer."
